🎯 The Challenge
BD Architectural Studio had a domain and hosting but no structured website to display its architectural projects. Bruce wanted something similar in feel to a reference site (bossarchitects.com) — spacious, photography-first and easy to navigate — while keeping his own brand identity.
Two constraints shaped the work. Bruce was a non-technical owner who initially wasn't sure what a WordPress login was, so onboarding needed careful guidance. He also required absolute accuracy on project names, captions and spelling, plus two firm features: a spam-protected contact form and correctly linked social profiles.
💡 Our Solution
I scoped a six-page WordPress site (Home, About Us, Projects, Contact Us, Media, Careers) built with Elementor and Divi. All assets — images, logo and an about-us document — were collected through a single shared Google Drive folder, with admin access shared to keep the workflow clean.
I used the reference for structure and spacing only, layering in Bruce's own logo and palette. I corrected project naming and captions against his source folders (Dainfern, Pearl Valley and others), stripped leftover demo content and placeholder expandable panels, and fixed contrast on the contact page by switching to clean black type on a plain background. I embedded two YouTube videos on the Media page, removed unwanted caption overlays, repaired the Facebook and Instagram links, set the Shark Bay House image as the hero slide and removed the Careers page at the client's request.
🏆 The Result
The studio received a live, mobile-friendly six-page portfolio site that matched the polish of the reference while staying on-brand. Projects were accurately named, imagery led each page, the contact form was protected against spam and social links worked correctly. Bruce's feedback stayed positive throughout — early on he said "It looks great," and after revisions confirmed "many thanks for the changes, greatly appreciated."
