🎯 The Challenge

SimchaPrint needed a fully custom WooCommerce store for personalised Jewish celebration stationery — benchers, menu cards, chuppah cards, and greeting cards for weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, baby namings, and Pidyon Haben ceremonies. Four distinct technical challenges stacked on top of each other. First, many products existed in both English and Hebrew customisation versions, requiring a single product page with a dropdown that correctly triggered different PitchPrint template IDs, product images, and order confirmation labels — not separate product listings. Second, PitchPrint's native WooCommerce integration required custom logic to switch between English and Hebrew right-to-left templates based on the selected variation. Third, Tradeprint — the UK print fulfillment provider — had no plug-and-play WordPress connector. Every product category required manual mapping to specific Tradeprint production specifications: paper weight, finish, size, lamination, page count, and quantity tier. Their live API rejected multiple values listed in their own data sheet — including square sizes and specific quantity tiers — requiring direct email threads with Tradeprint's developer team and shared Postman collections to resolve. Fourth, the design benchmark was Papier.com — elegant, minimal, no prices on category pages, seamless browse-to-personalise UX.

💡 Our Solution

Built the full store on WordPress and WooCommerce with a phased two-milestone approach. Milestone 1 covered WooCommerce product setup with Hebrew/English variation logic, PitchPrint synchronisation with template switching per variation, product images pulled from PitchPrint, YITH WooCommerce Watermark for design preview protection, and a custom Help button embedded inside the PitchPrint designer sidebar. Categories structured across 5 event types — Wedding/Sheva Brachot, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah, Baby Boy, Baby Girl — each with banner images and filtered product grids. Milestone 2 covered Tradeprint API integration with custom productionDataJSON mapping for each product category (DL Classic Laminated Flyers, Saddle Stitch Square Booklets, Classic Greeting Cards Square, Gatefold Leaflets), webhook-triggered dispatch emails branded as SimchaPrint, Simply Schedule Appointments booking system integrated with Zoom and Google Calendar, MailerLite newsletter with welcome automation flow connected at checkout and footer signup, and a blog, gallery, and About page with video. Postman collections used to validate all Tradeprint API parameters before WordPress implementation. Square product sizes and quantity tier conflicts resolved directly with Tradeprint's developer team.

🏆 The Result

SimchaPrint launched live at simchaprint.co.uk as a fully operational personalised stationery e-commerce store. 80+ product listings across 5 event categories. Hebrew and English variation dropdowns correctly switching PitchPrint templates on every product. Automated Tradeprint order submission firing on checkout completion. Real-time delivery status emails delivered from the SimchaPrint domain via Tradeprint webhooks. Consultation booking system live with Zoom link auto-generation and Google Calendar sync. MailerLite welcome automation active for new subscribers. Blog, gallery, and full About page with video all live. Total project investment: $2,518 across 42 contracted days, with timeline extended due to Tradeprint API validation complexity resolved through direct developer collaboration.
