Divi Responsive Design Fixes for Dutch Salads
Industries
🎯 The Challenge
The client, a designer, had built dutchsalads.nl in Divi and reached the final 5%. The remaining work was entirely responsive detail, but it was blocking delivery to their own end customer. The header navigation wrapped onto two lines too early, hero and product panels would not scale, and product images disappeared at certain widths.
The design left no room for guesswork. A detailed Figma file defined exact padding, column counts, and breakpoints, so every fix had to match the spec precisely. The layout also broke in the awkward gaps between Divi's default responsive views — for example between 1200px and 980px, and between 980px and 768px.
On top of that, a firm deadline applied. Core fixes were needed within days, with a wider site scan to follow. Any change also had to respect the client's existing build rather than replace it.
💡 Our Solution
I worked entirely inside the existing Divi structure, using the Figma file as the source of truth. The header was set to switch to mobile at the client's preferred 1200px, with menu items aligned to the logo's vertical centre. The "Quality / Passion" text columns were rebuilt to a clean 3/2/1 column pattern with consistent gaps across 1440px, 1200px, 980px, and mobile. The disappearing product images were fixed by reworking their scaling and positioning so they held place and shrank with the text. The fruit section was rebuilt from separate components instead of a single flat PNG, making it responsive and easier to maintain. Inner-page alignment on the Environment and Innovation pages was corrected by resetting row padding, zeroing column margins, and fixing an oversized image that forced the layout. Tools: Divi Builder, custom CSS, Figma, WordPress. Delivery ran on a fix-review-refine loop suited to breakpoint work.
🏆 The Result
Every reported issue was resolved and matched to the Figma design across all breakpoints. The client gave steady positive feedback throughout — "Ok much better!" and "great work on all issues!" — and on delivery wrote, "Thank you Tallha for your work! It was very helpful." The project earned a five-star review, translated from Dutch as: "Tallha doesn't stop until the client is satisfied, very nice to work with." Work spanned two orders ($80 + $40) delivered over roughly twelve days, giving the client a site that finally behaved cleanly on every screen.
