Figma to WordPress Rebuild — Octopus Marketing Recovery
Industries
🎯 The Challenge
Octopus Marketing had their six-page WordPress website built and live in May 2025. Three months later, their hosting environment failed and the site went down. There were no backup files retained on either side — not by the client, not by the developer after the original delivery. The website was gone entirely. The only surviving asset was the original Figma design file, still accessible at the password-protected link from the first project. The client needed a full rebuild — same site, same six pages, same mobile responsive layout — as quickly and cost-effectively as possible.
💡 Our Solution
Confirmed the original Figma file was fully intact and unchanged. Set up WordPress admin access on the client's new installation. Rebuilt all six pages using Elementor, matching every section, font, colour, spacing value, and layout decision directly from the Figma file — no guesswork, no redesign, no additional brief required. Mobile responsiveness was re-implemented at the Elementor breakpoint level across all pages: column stacking, font scaling, image sizing, and button proportions all adjusted for mobile and tablet. The rebuild started from the clean, approved design state — in some ways producing a cleaner result than a standard backup restoration would have delivered.
🏆 The Result
Delivered a complete six-page WordPress website rebuilt from the original Figma file in 10 days for $290 — identical cost and timeline to the original build. No revision rounds required. The Figma file left no ambiguity about the intended outcome. Client accepted delivery and the site was confirmed live. Post-delivery check-ins were made in December 2025 and May 2026 confirming continued smooth operation. Total investment across original build and rebuild: $580. An automated backup solution would have prevented the second engagement entirely — a lesson applied to all subsequent client projects with backup configuration included as standard.
