🎯 The Challenge

Jacques approached me to build FitFutura.nl, a health and wellness platform for Dutch adults aged 55 and over. He had content and a logo ready, and needed a WordPress site in Elementor with a blog, a PDF download section, a contact form, a newsletter pop-up, and a MailerLite connection. The design had to be genuinely senior-friendly, with large fonts and high contrast.

The real difficulty was scope. His full instruction document included features never mentioned in the short brief — a booking and payment setup for an online test, a health club finder, a podcast section, multilingual support, and full image management. These pushed the job well beyond the original €50–150 range.

On top of scope, feedback was slow. Jacques was available only two to three times a day, so the build had to progress efficiently between his responses without stalling.

💡 Our Solution

I proposed a two-phase structure instead of cramming everything into one budget. Phase 1 delivered a lean, live site so Jacques could start finding partners and building social media. Phase 2 would later add scheduling, payments, and the health club finder.

I built the site in WordPress with Elementor, using large legible fonts, high-contrast colours, and shallow navigation for the older audience. Dutch imagery gave it local character. I connected MailerLite using the client's API key, set up the blog and PDF section, added the contact form, and configured a newsletter pop-up timed to appear after one minute. The online test and health club finder shipped as placeholder pages with contact invitations, ready for Phase 2. I also sourced images to fill empty layout boxes and linked the FitFutura social accounts in the footer. To manage slow feedback, I batched questions and worked in focused blocks.

🏆 The Result

Phase 1 was delivered on 14 May 2025, within the agreed 15-day window. FitFutura launched with a working blog, PDF downloads, a contact form, live MailerLite automation, a timed newsletter pop-up, connected social links, and Phase 2 placeholder pages. The client was happy throughout, saying: "I am really happy how it is going so far. Keep up the good work." The site now serves as a professional foundation ready to attract partners and scale into its next phase.
