WordPress Ministry Homepage & Membership Strategy — Call Upon Yahweh
Industries
🎯 The Challenge
Call Upon Yahweh is a Christian ministry website publishing biblical scripture research and a nine-chapter e-book project. The client's original brief was a dual-track WordPress membership system — fixed recurring subscriptions via Paid Memberships Pro for Track 1 members accessing protected articles, and a Pay-What-You-Want PayPal donation system for Track 2 supporters accessing the book project page. The existing homepage was built on a custom "Lhotse" theme offering limited flexibility for conversion optimisation, Elementor editing, or membership page integration. More critically, the ministry had no established subscriber base yet — meaning a full membership platform investment at this stage (PMPro at $499/year, FuseWP at $119/year, Brevo Starter at $9/month) risked being premature. The homepage itself was information-heavy but lacked conversion structure, clear calls to action, an email capture system, or a free lead magnet to grow the audience.
💡 Our Solution
Recommended a phased strategy: homepage redesign and audience building first, membership platform second. Mapped the full dual-track membership architecture in advance — Track 1 (subscriber) accessing /member-articles/ and /book-project/, Track 2 (donor) accessing /book-project/ only — with four Brevo segments designed (Active Members, Active Donors, Lapsed Members, Lapsed Donors) and a donation flow integrated directly with PMPro for automated account creation, permission granting, and email triggering. Documented Cloudflare caching exclusion rules for all dynamic membership pages. Recommended FuseWP over WP Fusion with clear rationale. Identified the Lhotse custom theme as a flexibility constraint and recommended migration to Elementor with a lightweight base theme. Designed the homepage across multiple iterations — HTML mockups and PNG previews — with five conversion-focused sections: hero with dual CTAs ("Read Free" and "Support the Mission"), Featured Articles, e-book promotion with book cover and Chapter 1 CTA, "Free Download — Ultimate Bible Study Guide" email capture with lantern image, and a bottom section with stone archway image and "Compare modern church teachings against Scriptural Truths" copy. Subtitle "Restoring His Sacred Name" applied to header and footer with Isaiah 45:21-23 scripture. Animated hero text with subtle fade-in effect. Three Zoom calls held to align on design direction through the iteration process. Full project scope confirmed at $650 for complete redesign, internal page updates, Brevo integration, and Phase 2 membership build.
🏆 The Result
Homepage design delivered and confirmed across all sections matching the client's vision. Five-star review received: "It has been a pleasure working with Tallha. He is incredibly knowledgeable and demonstrated a clear understanding of my vision for the new ministry website. His advice was invaluable, and the pricing was very reasonable. The homepage design we developed is truly stunning, and his responsiveness and expertise have consistently exceeded my expectations." All three delivery scores — communication, quality, and value — rated five stars. Full $650 project scope agreed for Phase 2: complete Elementor-based website redesign, Book Project landing page, Members page redesign, Brevo email capture integration, and Paid Memberships Pro dual-track membership system implementation once the audience foundation is in place.
